Dr. Helen Richardson is principal consultant and owner of Career Consciousness, Inc. - a career and human resources consulting firm. Helen's philosophy is that work is a relationship just like any other relationship and that one needs a "career consciousness" to maximize its benefits. Helen has over 25 years of experiences as career coach, human resource director, organizational development consultant, school to career pioneer and advocate. Prior to starting her own consulting firm, she held senior level human resource positions in both corporate and non-profit organizations. Helen has a doctorate in Organizational Development and Training from Temple University, a Master of Human Services from Lincoln University, and an International Coaching Certification from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She is also a certified Career Development Facilitator. Prior to being elected to the position of President of the Association of Career Professionals International - Greater Philadelphia Chapter, she served as Vice President and Treasurer.
Vice-President: Provides essential balance to the executive team. Ensures that all operational issues are running smoothly. Major interface with Board committees facilitating expedient response to day-to-day issues and concerns.
Secretary: Serves as the keeper of organizational documents and written communication to organizational members. May interact with other committee chairs providing guidance on letters, etc..
Helene Stockman-Baer is the Coordinator - Cooperative Education, Career Services and Assessments at Drexel University's Steinbright Career Development Center - Health Sciences Campus. She works with graduate students and alumni on all aspects of career development and with undergraduate students and employers in Drexel's co-operative education program. Prior to joining Drexel, Helene worked as a career transition and development consultant at DBM, a global career transition organization. Helene holds an MBA from Northeastern University and BS in Education from Wheelock College. She is currently Secretary of the Association of Career Professionals International - Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
Treasurer: In concert with the President, provides fiscal leadership to the organization and follow through on routine fiscal decisions. Interfaces with membership, programs and public relations committees for monetary requests.
Betty Hirsch is founder and principal of Career Advisory Services. Additionally she works in career transition as a Project Consultant for Right Management, in Berwyn, PA. Previous to joining Right, Betty worked for 12 years at Manchester Partners - a human capital management firm. During her tenure at Manchester, she served as VP and Senior Consultant working with hundreds of professionals considering a career transition. She has provided service to individuals from companies such as PNC, JPMorgan Chase, Wachovia, Morgan Stanley, Cigna, DuPont, Rohm and Haas, GSK, Merck, Wyeth, PECO, Safeguard Scientific, Campbell Soup, Unisys, and a variety of not-for-profit organizations. She also serves as a volunteer Career Counselor for the Women's Resource Center in Wayne, PA. Her educational background includes an MA from the University of Texas and a BA from Duke University. Her avocation is studying art at The Barnes Foundation.
Program and Emerging Issues Chair: Serves as ACP liaison to the wider community in order to bring timely and essential resources to the career management community. In consultation with the other committee chairs, ensures that programming furthers the objectives of the various committees.
Membership Chair: Models exemplary customer service through initial contacts and timely responses to both potential and member requests. Works with public relations and strategic alliances chairs for publicity connected with potential, new or current members.
Professional Development Chair: Assists the President in enhancing the organization's image as a learning professional organization. Works with program committee regarding meeting topics, resources, etc. Facilitates development of ideas and resources for professional development seminars.
Public Relations Chair: Facilitates and implements media exposure for the organization helping to shape our image as leader in career management. Works with program, professional development and membership committees for specific activities and member activities.
Nominations Chair: Works with the President to develop a succession plan for Board positions. Learns about members' desires and goals and how membership in ACP might be of benefit to them.
Ethics and Bylaws Chair: Works with the President and members of the Board to keep bylaws up-to-date and fully reflective of the current concerns and issues of the organization.
Technology Chair: Keeps current on the technology issues and concerns impacting the career management community. Works with the professional development and program committees to provide resources to our members. Serves as the technology resource for the organization providing assistance to the various Board committees.
For 25 years Hud Whitenight has served as a practitioner and leader in organizational development at several Fortune 100 companies across a broad range of industries. His perspective is that one must always look at the whole system to understand its parts. He believes that it is only through effective diagnostics and planning that sound business solutions can be discovered and implemented. Hud is also a highly experienced photographer and videographer. These qualities/experiences plus a passion for the use of social media and other emerging technologies as key tools in the arsenal of career development serve Hud well as the Chair of the Technology Committee.
Strategic Alliances Chair: Serves as the organization's chief intermediary with complementary professional organizations. Works with membership, program, publicity and professional development committees in order to explore and expand opportunities for collaboration in professional development for career management professionals.
Certification Chair: Serves as the organization's champion for achieving professional credentialing. Works with membership, program and professional development committees to encourage greater numbers of members achieving certification.
